Telehealth for Santa Barbara residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Santa Barbara, California
On the South Coast, from Goleta through Santa Barbara to Montecito and Carpinteria, Alpha Hormones® works with adults who want a physician-led approach to hormones, metabolism and healthy aging. Care begins remotely. In a video consultation, a California-licensed provider gathers your history and current concerns, then orders labs that you complete locally. Common reasons people reach out include menopause symptoms, questions about testosterone, thyroid concerns and an interest in longevity medicine grounded in measurable data.
How Care Works From Santa Barbara
Every step of the standard process can happen from Santa Barbara County. You meet your provider over secure video, complete bloodwork at a nearby draw site, and return for a video visit to discuss results. The Alpha Hormones® clinic and in-house laboratory are in Pasadena, but remote patients use local labs so testing stays close to home.
Follow-ups are scheduled as your plan calls for, sometimes more often at the start and less often once things are stable. If you are heading to the Los Angeles area anyway and would like to meet in person, you can request an appointment at our Pasadena office. Patients on the South Coast should treat that as an option, not an expectation.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
It is not necessary. An initial consultation by video covers the same ground: your symptoms, history, goals and the labs your provider recommends. Some Santa Barbara patients still like to meet in person once, and Alpha Hormones® can schedule that at the Pasadena clinic. Choose whichever format you are most comfortable with. If your provider believes an in-person exam is needed, they will tell you why.
Often, yes. Thyroid care relies heavily on symptom review and lab testing, both of which work well with a telehealth model. Your provider orders thyroid labs at a draw site near Santa Barbara, reviews them with you, and discusses whether treatment or further evaluation is appropriate. If something in your history or results suggests you should have a physical exam or imaging, your provider will explain next steps.
Between visits, you continue with the plan you and your provider agreed on, and you complete any repeat labs on the schedule they set. If symptoms change or you have a question about your treatment, contact our clinic team to arrange a visit sooner. Telehealth is not for emergencies, so urgent symptoms should be handled by calling 911 or going to the nearest emergency department.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
We work with many PPO plans, and our team can check your benefits before your first visit. Benefits vary by plan, and a verification does not guarantee coverage. Self-pay and Alpha Membership options are also available. Call (213) 334-4111 to review your options.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.
