Alpha Hormones® · Pasadena, California

Physician-Led Hormone Care at Our Pasadena Clinic

Pasadena is home to Alpha Hormones®, and our only physical clinic sits at 800 Fairmount Avenue, Suite 323. Neighbors from across the city and the western San Gabriel Valley come here for hormone, metabolic and longevity medicine led by Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O. Most new patients begin with an in-person visit, where history, exam and lab work can happen in one place. From there, your provider builds an individualized plan for concerns such as perimenopause, low testosterone, thyroid symptoms or weight management.

How Care Works From Pasadena

How Care Works When the Clinic Is Close to Home

Because the clinic is local, your first visit can be in person. Blood draws are handled by our in-house laboratory, which is located only at this Pasadena office, so you are not sent elsewhere for routine hormone or metabolic panels. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm, which leaves room for early or weekend appointments.

After the initial workup, many check-ins move to telehealth when it is clinically appropriate. That might mean reviewing lab results, adjusting a dose or discussing how a plan is going without leaving home or work. When an exam, a repeat lab draw or a hands-on discussion makes more sense, you simply come back to Fairmount Avenue. Your provider will tell you which format suits each step.

Absolutely love Alpha Hormones. Dr Monikeo is amazing! I was recommended to her by a colleague and I would highly recommend her as well as the office to anyone who wants the best care.
I went to this doctor back in March of 2026. I was concerned about the labs ordered because if they are not covered under insurance, they can be very expensive. After sharing this with the doctor, he assured me that the staff would resubmit any codes if needed. Sure, enough I received a $500+ lab bill for 4 labs. It took a little time but the staff did submit new codes and I was just informed that the quest bill now has a 0 balance. I have to give the staff credit for sticking with me though this ordeal. Thank you, Mae, Paul and anyone else with Alpha who helped in this situation.
Julianne was very thoughtful and detailed in her questions and took the time to do a full blood analysis. She answered many concerns and a treatment plan that works for me.
I appreciate the attention and completeness of care I get. The whole operation is very efficient. I love that all my questions and concerns are fully discussed and addressed. I highly recommend the staff and care providers at Alpha Hormones
I’ve had such a positive experience with Alpha Hormones, especially working with Kellie Klein. She has been incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout my health evaluations. She takes the time to listen, explain everything clearly, and make sure I feel comfortable and informed about my health and the plan moving forward. I truly appreciate the care and attention Kellie has given me. She has helped create a thoughtful plan focused on improving my overall health and well-being, and I feel confident knowing I have her support throughout the process. I highly recommend Kellie to anyone looking for someone who is caring, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping you feel your best!
I have been under the care of the team at Alpha Hormones since October, 2025. Their team is courteous, professional and consistently handles my concerns in a positive and prompt manner. My health and life have improved markedly under their care and support. I have lost 25 pounds so far, my stamina has improved significantly and there are a lot of days that I feel like 64-going-on- 40. I was super- nervous about beginning weight loss medication due to potential side effects, and Monikeo was super- supportive in addressing my concerns, allowing me to take this life- changing step. I had seriously begun to lose hope regarding what the rest of my life was going to look like. Thanks to Monikeo, Dr. Tek and the rest of the Alpha Hormones team, I am looking forward to embracing my remaining years with joy and confidence.

Questions Before You Book

Pasadena Patient FAQs

Is the in-house lab available to every Pasadena patient?

Yes. Our laboratory operates inside the Pasadena clinic, so patients who live nearby can usually have blood drawn on site rather than at an outside draw station. Your provider orders the panels that fit your evaluation, whether that involves hormones, thyroid markers or metabolic measures. Timing matters for some tests, such as testosterone, so the team will explain when to come in and whether any preparation, like fasting, is needed.

Do I have to come in person for every follow-up?

No. Living close to the clinic makes in-person care easy, but it does not mean every visit has to happen here. Once your plan is established, many follow-ups work well over secure video, especially lab reviews and dose discussions. Your provider may ask you to come in when an exam or new blood work is needed. The decision is clinical, and it is made with you rather than by a fixed schedule.

Should I check my insurance before my first Pasadena visit?

It is a good idea. Alpha Hormones® works with many PPO plans, but benefits vary from plan to plan, and verification does not guarantee coverage. Our team can help you understand what your plan may include before you book. If you prefer, self-pay and Alpha Membership options are also available. Knowing your path ahead of time helps your first appointment focus on your health rather than paperwork.

What if I need care outside clinic hours?

Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and Saturday, 9am to 1pm. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.

How are prescriptions handled?

Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.

Is my health information kept private?

Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.
