Telehealth for San Jose residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · San Jose, California
From Willow Glen to Berryessa, San Jose patients reach Alpha Hormones® the same way: a telehealth appointment with a provider licensed in California. We are a physician-led practice based in Pasadena, and for the South Bay that means you do not need to plan a trip south to get started. Common reasons people book include perimenopause and menopause symptoms, questions about low testosterone, thyroid concerns, and medical weight management. Your first visit focuses on listening, and then we arrange lab work close to home.
How Care Works From San Jose
After your intake video visit, your provider decides which labs are worth ordering. You complete the draw at a site that works for you in Santa Clara County, whether that is near home in San Jose or close to work in Santa Clara or Sunnyvale. Results come back to our team, and you meet again by video to go over the numbers and talk through next steps.
Ongoing care follows the same pattern: periodic telehealth check-ins plus repeat labs when your plan calls for them. You will not be asked to travel to Pasadena as part of routine care. If you happen to be in Southern California and want to stop by, the clinic at 800 Fairmount Avenue is open to you, and our team can coordinate that visit.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
We aim to keep San Jose patients with the provider they first meet, since continuity makes follow-up conversations more productive. Every one of our providers is licensed in California, so whoever you start with can follow you by telehealth. If a schedule change means seeing someone else on the team, that provider has access to your chart and recent labs before the visit begins.
Lab work is done at a local draw site rather than at our office, since the in-house laboratory is only at the Pasadena clinic. Your provider sends the order, and our team explains how to schedule the draw and what preparation, such as fasting, certain tests may require. Results route back to us for review at your next video visit.
In many cases, yes. Medical weight management starts with a video consultation and lab work, and progress is tracked through scheduled telehealth follow-ups. Whether a medication is appropriate depends on your evaluation and California rules, so nothing is decided before your provider has reviewed your history. You can expect a clear explanation of each option and the reasoning behind it.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
We work with many PPO plans, and our team can check your benefits before your first visit. Benefits vary by plan, and a verification does not guarantee coverage. Self-pay and Alpha Membership options are also available. Call (213) 334-4111 to review your options.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
