Telehealth for Carlsbad residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Carlsbad, California
Alpha Hormones® serves Carlsbad and the surrounding North County San Diego coast, including Oceanside and Encinitas, along with inland communities such as San Marcos and Vista. Patients here begin with a virtual consultation rather than a drive north. During that first visit, a California-licensed provider reviews your symptoms, medical history and any recent labs, then recommends testing that fits the question at hand, whether it concerns perimenopause, low testosterone symptoms, body weight or possible thyroid concerns.
How Care Works From Carlsbad
Visits take place by secure video, scheduled within Pasadena clinic hours: weekdays from 9am to 6pm and Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm. Because our in-house lab is located only at the Pasadena clinic, Carlsbad patients complete bloodwork at a draw site in North County. Your Alpha Hormones® provider receives the results and reviews them with you before any treatment decisions are made.
Once you have a plan, follow-ups are scheduled at intervals your provider sets, often paired with repeat labs. An in-person appointment in Pasadena is available if you ever want one, but it is your choice and not part of the standard process for North County patients. Your provider can explain how follow-up timing may change as your plan evolves.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
Follow-up timing depends on the service and on how you respond, so there is no single schedule. Early in treatment, visits and labs tend to be closer together while your provider assesses the effect of any changes. Once things are steady, check-ins are often spaced further apart. Every follow-up with Alpha Hormones® can be done by video from Carlsbad, with lab work completed in North County.
For many women in perimenopause or menopause, yes. A video consultation allows your provider to review symptoms, cycle changes, health history and lab results, then discuss whether bioidentical hormone therapy is appropriate. Treatment is never assumed in advance; it depends on your clinical evaluation. If your provider feels an in-person exam is needed, they will explain the options, which may include a visit with a local clinician.
Yes. Your provider will send your lab order to a draw site in North County San Diego so you can have blood drawn without traveling far. We do not process labs for remote patients through our Pasadena in-house laboratory. Your provider will tell you whether any fasting or timing instructions apply, which matters for some hormone tests, then review the results with you at your next visit.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
We work with many PPO plans, and our team can check your benefits before your first visit. Benefits vary by plan, and a verification does not guarantee coverage. Self-pay and Alpha Membership options are also available. Call (213) 334-4111 to review your options.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
