Telehealth for Los Angeles residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles is a city of distinct neighborhoods, from Silver Lake and Echo Park to Downtown, Hollywood, Koreatown and Westwood. Alpha Hormones® serves patients across the city from one physical clinic in Pasadena, paired with telehealth for ongoing care. Angelenos come to us for women's BHRT, men's testosterone evaluation, thyroid care, medical weight management, sexual wellness and longevity medicine. Whatever part of the city you call home, care begins with a careful evaluation led by a licensed provider.
How Care Works From Los Angeles
Where you live in Los Angeles shapes how you use the clinic. Patients on the Eastside or in Northeast LA, such as Highland Park, often find in-person visits easy to fit in. Those farther west may prefer to come in for the first evaluation and lab draw, then lean on telehealth. Both approaches are common, and neither changes the quality of oversight you receive.
Our in-house lab is part of the Pasadena clinic, so lab draws are typically scheduled alongside an in-person visit. Between draws, secure video works well for reviewing results, adjusting a plan or raising new concerns. Saturday morning hours can help if weekday traffic across the city makes a trip impractical. Your provider will tell you when an in-person step is clinically important.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
It is worth coming in at least once. An in-person first visit allows your provider to complete an exam if useful and draw labs in our in-house laboratory the same day. After that, many Westside patients handle most follow-ups by telehealth and return for lab draws or exams as needed. If travel is a significant barrier, mention it when you book so the team can plan around it.
Alpha Hormones® is led by founder and medical director Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O. The clinical team also includes Julianne Humason, FNP-BC; Marcus Lee, FNP-C; Monikeo Williamson, FNP-BC; and Kellie Klein, PA-C. All of them are licensed in California, so any provider can care for Los Angeles patients. We generally try to keep you with the same clinician for continuity.
Let us know as early as possible. Our providers are licensed in California and Florida, and Dr. Tek and Monikeo Williamson are also licensed in Texas. If you relocate to one of those states, care may continue by telehealth with an appropriately licensed provider. Prescribing always depends on clinical evaluation and the rules of the state where you are located, so a move elsewhere may require a transition plan.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
We work with many PPO plans, and our team can check your benefits before your first visit. Benefits vary by plan, and a verification does not guarantee coverage. Self-pay and Alpha Membership options are also available. Call (213) 334-4111 to review your options.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
