Telehealth for Long Beach residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Long Beach, California
From Belmont Shore to Bixby Knolls, Long Beach residents come to Alpha Hormones® for physician-led evaluation of hormone, thyroid and metabolic concerns. Because our Pasadena clinic sits within the greater Los Angeles area, many Long Beach patients choose to begin with an in-person visit, meet their provider face to face, and have baseline labs drawn in our in-house laboratory during that visit. Others prefer to start by video. Either way, the first step is a thorough review of symptoms, history and goals before any treatment plan is discussed.
How Care Works From Long Beach
Long Beach sits in southern Los Angeles County, close enough that in-person care at our Pasadena office is a practical option rather than a special trip. New patients often schedule the initial consultation at the clinic, where the provider can complete any needed exam and our in-house laboratory can handle the blood draw. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm.
After the plan is set, most check-ins move to telehealth, which saves the freeway time for when it is really needed. Follow-up video visits are used to review lab trends, symptoms and dosing questions with your Alpha Hormones® provider. When a recheck calls for a new blood draw or an in-person exam, you can come back to Pasadena and pair the two in one trip.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
Both work. Many Long Beach patients like an in-person first visit at Alpha Hormones® in Pasadena because the exam and baseline labs can happen in one trip, using our in-house laboratory. If your schedule is tight, you can start by telehealth instead, and your provider will explain which labs are needed and how to complete them. The choice depends on your concerns, your comfort and what the provider recommends after reviewing your history.
We aim for continuity. Our team includes Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O., our founder and medical director, along with nurse practitioners and a physician assistant, all licensed in California. Long Beach patients usually work with a consistent provider for follow-up visits, whether those happen by video or at the Pasadena clinic. If scheduling ever requires a different provider, your chart and plan carry over, so the conversation picks up where it left off at Alpha Hormones®.
We work with many PPO plans, but benefits differ from plan to plan and service to service. Before your first appointment, our team can help check your benefits; please keep in mind that verification does not guarantee coverage. If insurance is not a fit for what you need, self-pay and Alpha Membership options are available. Asking these questions early helps Long Beach patients plan around costs before booking.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.
