Telehealth for Bakersfield residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Bakersfield, California
Alpha Hormones® serves Bakersfield and communities across Kern County, including Oildale, Shafter, Delano and Tehachapi, through telehealth. Care starts with a video consultation with a California-licensed member of our physician-led team. That provider listens to your concerns, reviews your health history and orders lab tests at a draw site near you. Bakersfield patients come to us for medical weight management, testosterone evaluation, women's BHRT, thyroid care and peptide therapy, with each service evaluated separately.
How Care Works From Bakersfield
After your initial video visit, you complete bloodwork locally in Kern County instead of at our Pasadena in-house laboratory. Your Alpha Hormones® provider then schedules a results visit to explain what the labs show and whether treatment fits your situation. Appointments are offered during Pasadena clinic hours, and Saturday mornings are available for patients who work weekdays.
Follow-up care continues by telehealth, with timing based on your plan and any repeat labs your provider requests. Some patients prefer to come over the Grapevine to Pasadena for a face-to-face visit, and that option is open to you whenever you want it. It is entirely optional, and staying fully remote from Bakersfield is a normal way to receive care.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
Not as a requirement. Consultations, lab reviews and follow-ups can all happen by video, with labs completed in Kern County. You can choose to visit the Pasadena clinic if you prefer meeting in person, or if you are already traveling to Los Angeles. If your provider determines a hands-on exam is needed, they will discuss options with you, which may include seeing a clinician closer to home.
It begins with a video visit covering your weight history, eating patterns, activity, medications and medical conditions, followed by lab work at a local draw site. Your provider uses that information to discuss options, which may or may not include prescription medication depending on your evaluation. Regular follow-ups by video allow your provider to review progress, side effects and labs, and adjust the plan when needed.
Our team can help with a benefits check for many PPO plans. Keep in mind that coverage varies widely and a verification is not a guarantee that a visit or service will be paid by your plan. If insurance does not apply, Alpha Hormones® offers self-pay and Alpha Membership options. Asking these questions before your first appointment helps avoid surprises later.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.
