Telehealth for San Diego residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · San Diego, California
Whether you live in Hillcrest, Point Loma, Mission Valley or La Jolla, Alpha Hormones® offers San Diego adults physician-led care for hormone, metabolic and longevity concerns through telehealth. Your first step is a video consultation with a California-licensed provider who listens to what has changed, reviews prior labs if you have them, and outlines appropriate testing. From there, care may focus on menopause symptoms, testosterone questions, weight, thyroid function or peptide therapy, depending on what your evaluation shows.
How Care Works From San Diego
Alpha Hormones® has one clinic, in Pasadena, and San Diego County patients are served primarily by telehealth. Appointments take place over secure video, so you can join from home or a private space at work. Lab orders go to a draw site convenient to your neighborhood, and results are routed back to your provider for review before your next conversation.
After treatment begins, follow-up visits are spaced according to your plan, with repeat bloodwork timed to answer specific clinical questions. Some San Diego patients decide to visit the Pasadena clinic in person, for instance to meet their provider once. You can request that at any time, though it is never a condition of care. Video visits remain the default.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
We aim for continuity. Our goal is for you to continue with the provider who completed your initial consultation, so the person reviewing your follow-up labs already knows your history. If you would like to switch to a different provider, or if scheduling requires a change, our team can arrange that. All five Alpha Hormones® providers are licensed in California, so any of them can see San Diego patients.
Many parts of hormone and metabolic care, such as symptom review, lab interpretation, treatment planning and follow-up, translate well to video. Some situations call for a hands-on exam. When that happens, your provider may ask you to see a local clinician or offer an in-person visit at our Pasadena clinic. Your provider will explain the reason and help you decide which option is more practical from San Diego.
Yes, that is a good idea. Alpha Hormones® works with many PPO plans, but benefits vary from plan to plan, and a verification does not guarantee coverage. Our team can help you understand what to check before your first visit. If your plan does not cover a given service, self-pay and Alpha Membership options are available, and we can explain how each one works.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.
