Austin and Central Texas: What Telehealth Hormone Care Looks Like

For patients in Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park and across Travis County, Alpha Hormones® provides hormone, metabolic and longevity care by video. Only two of our providers are licensed in Texas, Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O. and Monikeo Williamson, FNP-BC, and every Austin patient is seen by one of them. We work with women navigating perimenopause or menopause, men who want a careful testosterone evaluation, and adults interested in general peptide therapy, thyroid care or medical weight management. The first step is a video consultation.

How Care Works From Austin

From First Video Visit to Local Labs in Travis County

During your initial telehealth visit with Alpha Hormones®, your Texas-licensed provider reviews symptoms, medications and prior results, then explains which parts of your care fit well over video and which, if any, call for an in-person exam with a local clinician. Most of our services rely on history and lab data, so much of the work can happen on screen.

Our team coordinates lab orders at a draw site near you, whether that is in central Austin, Pflugerville or Lakeway. Results go to Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O. or Monikeo Williamson, FNP-BC, the only Texas-licensed providers on our team, who walks you through them by video. Follow-up visits continue the same way. Treatment decisions depend on your evaluation and Texas rules, and travel to Pasadena is not part of care for Texas patients.

Alpha Hormones is a full body approach to wellness. Dr. Marcus Lee takes the time to hear my concerns, orders thorough labs, and discusses his plan of attack with me prior to implementation. I’m never left in the dark.
If you are looking to feel better during your later stages of life, this is the place to come. Kelly was very informative and gave me options of ways to try and get myself to feeling my best self.
I highly recommend Dr.Tek at Alpha Hormones. He is a knowledgeable, thorough, and attentive physician who takes time to listen. He looks closely at detailed lab work to build a personalized treatment plan and identify root causes. If you want a doctor who combines cutting-edge expertise with genuine, individualized care, Dr. Tek is the best!
Absolutely love Alpha Hormones. Dr Monikeo is amazing! I was recommended to her by a colleague and I would highly recommend her as well as the office to anyone who wants the best care.
I went to this doctor back in March of 2026. I was concerned about the labs ordered because if they are not covered under insurance, they can be very expensive. After sharing this with the doctor, he assured me that the staff would resubmit any codes if needed. Sure, enough I received a $500+ lab bill for 4 labs. It took a little time but the staff did submit new codes and I was just informed that the quest bill now has a 0 balance. I have to give the staff credit for sticking with me though this ordeal. Thank you, Mae, Paul and anyone else with Alpha who helped in this situation.
Julianne was very thoughtful and detailed in her questions and took the time to do a full blood analysis. She answered many concerns and a treatment plan that works for me.

Questions Before You Book

Austin Patient FAQs

Does anything require an in-person exam?

Some situations do. If your symptoms or history suggest a problem that should be examined in person, your provider will tell you and may recommend seeing a clinician in the Austin area before or alongside telehealth care. Hormone, thyroid and weight concerns are usually evaluated through conversation and labs, but your provider will not move forward with treatment if a needed exam has not happened.

What time zone are appointments scheduled in?

Austin is on Central time, two hours ahead of our clinic team in Pasadena. Our clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm Pacific, which is 11am to 8pm Central, and Saturday, 9am to 1pm Pacific, which is 11am to 3pm Central. When you receive a confirmation, double-check which time zone is listed so your video visit starts when you expect.

How is general peptide therapy different from HGH and peptide therapy?

Alpha Hormones® treats them as separate services. HGH and peptide therapy addresses questions related to growth hormone, while general peptide therapy covers other peptide-based options your provider may consider for specific goals. Both begin with an evaluation and labs, and both depend on Texas rules and your clinical picture. Some peptides are compounded and are not FDA-approved, which your provider will explain before you decide anything.

What if I need an in-person examination?

Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.

How are prescriptions handled?

Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.

Is my health information kept private?

Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.

Is there an Alpha Hormones® office in Texas?

No. Alpha Hormones® does not have a physical location in Texas. Care for Texas patients takes place by video with Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O., or Monikeo Williamson, FNP-BC, the two members of our team licensed in Texas. Lab work is drawn at a local site, and if your provider recommends a hands-on exam, they will discuss seeing a clinician near you.

Do I need to be in Texas during my video visit?

Licensure follows where you are during the visit. If you join from Texas, your appointment will be with Dr. Tek or Monikeo Williamson. Both are also licensed in California and Florida, so a visit can usually go forward from those states as well. Let our team know ahead of time if you will be traveling.
