Telehealth for Palo Alto residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Palo Alto, California
Alpha Hormones® works with Palo Alto residents who want a physician-led look at hormones, metabolism and long-term health without adding a commute to a full calendar. Our clinic is in Pasadena, so care here starts by telehealth: a video visit to review your history, symptoms and goals, followed by lab work at a draw site in Santa Clara County. Women weighing BHRT for perimenopause or menopause, men asking about a testosterone evaluation, and adults interested in longevity medicine can all begin from home or the office.
How Care Works From Palo Alto
Your first appointment is a secure video visit with one of our California-licensed providers. After that conversation, we send a lab order you can complete at a draw site convenient to Palo Alto, Menlo Park or Mountain View. When results are in, your provider reviews them with you on a second video call and explains which options, if any, fit your situation.
Follow-up visits are also virtual, scheduled around how your plan is progressing rather than on a fixed template. Some patients like to meet the team in person once; that means a trip to our Pasadena clinic, which is entirely your choice and never a requirement for Bay Area patients. Our in-house laboratory is at the Pasadena location, so local draws are the usual route from here.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
Usually, yes. Video visits are held during clinic hours, Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm, Pacific time, which is the same time zone you are already in. Many people join from a quiet room at the office or from home before or after work. If an open slot is hard to find, our Pasadena team can help you compare options when you call (213) 334-4111.
Many hormone, thyroid and weight management conversations work well by video when paired with local lab work. Some situations do call for a physical exam, and your provider will tell you if that applies to you. If it does, your provider will talk through the options with you, which may include a visit to our Pasadena clinic. The decision rests on your clinical picture rather than a blanket rule.
It is a good idea. Alpha Hormones® works with many PPO plans, but benefits differ from one plan to the next, and a verification is not a guarantee of coverage. Our team can help you check before your first visit. If insurance is not the right fit, self-pay and Alpha Membership options are available, and we are glad to explain how each one works.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
Yes. Alpha Hormones® follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information, and video visits take place over a secure connection. Please avoid sending detailed medical information by regular email; our team can tell you the right way to share records.
