Telehealth for Irvine residents · Main clinic and headquarters in Pasadena, California
Alpha Hormones® · Irvine, California
Irvine's mix of professionals, families and academic communities often means calendars with little room for long clinic visits. Alpha Hormones® approaches care for Irvine residents with that in mind: most patients start with a video consultation and keep routine follow-ups online. Common reasons people reach out include thyroid symptoms, perimenopause and menopause changes, low energy that may relate to testosterone, and medical weight management. When a face-to-face exam is worthwhile, our Pasadena clinic in Los Angeles County is available by appointment.
How Care Works From Irvine
Telehealth visits can be scheduled during clinic hours, Monday through Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm, so many Irvine patients join from an office or between commitments. Your first appointment focuses on history and goals; your provider then orders labs that match your concerns, whether that is a thyroid panel, a hormone evaluation or metabolic markers. Results are reviewed together at a dedicated follow-up.
In-person care happens at our single location, 800 Fairmount Avenue in Pasadena, home to our in-house laboratory. For Irvine patients, that is a real drive, so visits there are usually tied to a specific purpose, such as an exam or a coordinated blood draw. Everything else, from dose discussions to progress check-ins, can generally continue with your Alpha Hormones® provider by video.

The Alpha Hormones® Difference
Your symptoms, health history, test results, and goals guide the conversation. Together, we discuss care options so you understand the next steps.
When testing is needed, your provider explains the results. These findings help guide treatment decisions and a plan to monitor your progress.
As care continues, follow-up visits and testing help your provider check your response. You can also ask questions and discuss changes to your plan.

Questions Before You Book
In many cases, yes. Thyroid care at Alpha Hormones® relies heavily on symptom history and lab results, both of which can be reviewed in a video visit. Your provider will decide which tests are needed and how often to repeat them. If something in your history or results suggests an exam would help, you will be told directly and can plan a Pasadena visit. Any treatment decision depends on your evaluation and lab findings.
Continuity matters to us, and most Irvine patients follow up with the provider who started their care. All Alpha Hormones® providers are licensed in California: Dr. Rotana Steven Tek, D.O., Julianne Humason, FNP-BC, Marcus Lee, FNP-C, Monikeo Williamson, FNP-BC, and Kellie Klein, PA-C. If you have a preference when booking, let the team know and they will do their best to match it.
Telehealth licensure follows where you are located at the time of the visit. Alpha Hormones® providers are licensed in California and Florida, and in Texas only Dr. Tek and Monikeo Williamson are licensed. If you move to Florida or Texas, care may be able to continue with a provider licensed there. In other states we cannot provide telehealth visits, so tell us early if a move is coming so your care team can plan the transition.
Your provider will explain when telehealth is not enough and what the next step should be. Our physical clinic is in Pasadena; if you are farther away, you may need care from a clinician near you. Telehealth is not an emergency service; call 911 for a medical emergency.
Bring a list of your current medications and supplements, any lab results from the past year, and a short summary of your symptoms and when they started. If you plan to use insurance, have your card ready. This helps your provider make good use of the visit and recommend the right testing.
We work with many PPO plans, and our team can check your benefits before your first visit. Benefits vary by plan, and a verification does not guarantee coverage. Self-pay and Alpha Membership options are also available. Call (213) 334-4111 to review your options.
Any prescription depends on your provider’s evaluation, your lab results and the rules of the state you are in. If treatment is appropriate, your provider explains the plan, and our team helps coordinate pharmacy details and follow-up. Some therapies use compounded medications, which are not FDA-approved, and your provider will explain what that means for you.
