Human Growth Hormone (HGH) Peptide Therapy

Your Trusted Source For HGH Therapy

What is HGH peptide therapy?

Peptide therapy is a form of treatment that uses short chain of amino acids called peptide to give therapeutic effects by targeting multiple systems in the body. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) secretagogue is a type of peptide that helps increase growth hormone levels more naturally as compared to recombinant HGH (rhGH).

HGH is an important hormone that should not be passed by anyone who is interested in living longer and healthier life. It’s know as the repair hormone and plays a key role in the maintenance of a youthful appearance and healthy bodily functions. HGH also keeps you in a better mood, normalizes weight by increasing muscle mass and decreasing fat, gives you more energy, and helps you to think clearly.

Just like testosterone, HGH decreases beginning at age thirty. As we age, most of us in the have levels of HGH that are too low for optimal health. Without HGH, the body lack its ability to repair itself properly and goes downhill health-wise. Because of the high cost ($1,000-$2,000 per month) and strict legal environment surrounding the prescription of HGH, Alpha Hormones® recommend using peptide therapy instead. HGH secretagogues such as Sermorelin and Tesamorelin are generally safe and effective to treat suboptimal growth hormone levels.

Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a synthetic peptide that was FDA-approved in 1997 for the diagnosis and treatment of growth hormone deficiency in children. It is a growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) analog composed of the first 29 amino acids of endogenous GHRH. Because of this structure, Sermorelin stimulates the pituitary gland to produce and release growth hormone in a natural, physiologic pattern, which is why it is referred to as a “secretagogue.”

Sermorelin promotes the body’s own growth hormone production rather than supplying external hormone, and for this reason it is often considered a more physiologic alternative to exogenous HGH. Research has explored its potential to support metabolism, body composition, energy, and general wellness by encouraging healthy pituitary signaling, although individual responses can vary. It is important to note that many of the commonly discussed wellness or anti-aging applications of Sermorelin have not been established through large clinical trials, and these uses remain investigational.

As with any peptide therapy, Sermorelin should be used under the supervision of a licensed medical provider, with an understanding of its approved indications, potential risks, and limitations of current evidence.

Ipamorelin

Ipamorelin is a highly selective growth hormone–releasing peptide (GHRP) that gently increases your body’s natural growth hormone in a smooth, physiologic way. Originally developed by Novo Nordisk and once FDA-approved for postoperative ileus (later discontinued for business reasons, not safety), it stimulates the ghrelin receptor to trigger natural, pulsatile GH release. Compared to older peptides like GHRP-6, Ipamorelin causes far less appetite stimulation and has a much cleaner side-effect profile.

One of its biggest advantages is selectivity—Ipamorelin does not significantly raise cortisol, prolactin, or aldosterone, making it one of the most well-tolerated GH-supporting peptides. Side effects, when they occur, are usually mild and temporary, such as brief headache or injection-site irritation.

Patients often use Ipamorelin to support recovery, restful sleep, tissue repair, lean body composition, and overall vitality. By boosting natural GH and IGF-1 levels, it may help with inflammation, metabolism, and cellular repair, though results vary by age, baseline hormones, and dose.

Ipamorelin can also be combined with CJC-1295 for a synergistic effect, as the two peptides work through complementary pathways. However, this combination—like all peptide therapies in the regenerative and wellness space—remains investigational and is not FDA-approved for anti-aging or performance purposes.

When supervised by a medical professional, Ipamorelin can be a helpful part of a broader regenerative medicine program for individuals seeking safe, natural GH support.

Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is an FDA-approved growth hormone–releasing factor (GRF) analog marketed under the brand name Egrifta®. It is approved specifically for the reduction of excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected patients with lipodystrophy. Tesamorelin works by stimulating the pituitary somatotroph cells to produce and release endogenous growth hormone in a pulsatile, physiologic manner. This increase in growth hormone subsequently elevates IGF-1 levels, which plays a role in metabolic regulation.

As a GRF analog, tesamorelin supports natural growth hormone secretion rather than supplying external hormone, and its effects on visceral adipose tissue have been demonstrated in its FDA-approved population. However, its use outside of the approved indication—including general weight loss, anti-aging, or wellness purposes—remains investigational. Patients considering tesamorelin for non-FDA-approved purposes should do so under the guidance of a licensed medical provider, with a full understanding of the therapy’s risks, limitations, and regulatory status.

Benefits of HGH secretagogues may include:

Many patients pursue HGH secretagogues for their potential to support restorative sleep, daytime energy, cognitive function, and overall skin wellness. Individual responses vary, and these effects have not been established for all users or in all clinical settings. At Alpha Hormones®, our medical providers carefully review your health questionnaire, medical history, and laboratory results to understand your overall health profile and determine whether peptide therapy is appropriate for your needs, concerns, and goals.
